1. Are there any known issues with running an IWS v2.5.1.2 Client on a Windows XP system? (v2.5.x)
Yes. You will experience problems accessing the Conference Center. The
client.bat and launch.bat files located at C:\Program Files\InfoWorkSpace\IWS25 need to be removed and replaced with files supplied by the InfoWorkSpace Technical Services. You can contact them at 1-866-269-0532 or e-mail at helpdesk@infoworkspace.com.

2. I have installed the v2.5.1.2 Browser plug-in, and now I can not access the conference center. How can I fix it? (v2.5)
If you have installed the v2.5.1.2 browser plug-in, you can choose one of two remedies to resolve the conference center problem:

3. Can I float the Talk button and the talk button only over another application. Or a small bar at bottom of screen? (v2.x)
You are able to detach the toolbar within a room which will allow you to float the audio button, but it cannot be removed by itself.

4. Having problems receiving audio with IWS v2.5. Unicast UDP, specify local udp port 8084 are selected but I am still unable to receive audio. I can transmit but not receive. (v2.x)
It is possible that your local client machines audio is muted. Check to ensure that you can hear other audio sounds.
If this is not the case, the it is possible that the other parties are not configured properly.
Try testing audio with client machines within your same office/network.

5. What privileges does a user need to be able to edit Conference rooms in the PlaceWare Conference Center? (v2.x)
PlaceWare/Admin privileges need to be assigned through the InfoWorkSpace Admin Tool.

6. Can an instructor manage the slides of a presentation? (v2.x)
Yes. Whether using the Shared View from within a room, or using the PlaceWare Conference Center.

7. I have just enable SSL on my server, but now I cannot connect via my client. Why?
There are a couple of reasons that this could occur:

Ensure that you have placed a checkmark in the secure connection box located on the initial logon screen.

Ensure that the administrator has modified the properties file located in the servers placeware\data folder to reflect https in lieu of http on any lines that reference a URL.

The keystore password setup has not been completed for the Portal. Refer to page 155 of the InfoWorkSpace Administrators Guide.

8. I have multiple objects on my whiteboard. Can I layer the images (move them forward and back)? (v2.x)

9. When logging into InfoWorkSpace, I am presented with a message that tells me all of my servers licenses are in use? (v2.x)
This message can present itself due to a number of circumstances.
Contact your InfoWorkSpace Administrator to report to message and verify the status of your licenses.

10. Why cant I drag-and-drop a file into to file cabinet? (v2.5)
Drag-and-drop functionality does exist in InfoWorkSpace v2.5, but the file(s) must be dropped into the left pane of the file cabinet, directly onto the destination folder. Files are displayed in the right pane of the file cabinet.

11. Why am I presented with a second login box to enter the application after authenticating via the InfoWorkSpace Portal? (v2.5)
This may occur if the InfoWorkSpace Portal page was accessed using only the short name of the server. Try re-entering the Portal using the fully qualified host name of the InfoWorkSpace server. For example, use http://techspt.infoworkspace.com in lieu of http://techspt.

12. Client audio is intermittent when collaborating with another user across Federated InfoWorkSpace servers. (v2.x)
PlaceWare will grab a random UDP audio port if not specified in the PlaceWare Audio Setup located within the client application. Select "Tools" | "Audio Setup". Insert port number in UDP Port field provided (8084). Close out of InfoWorkSpace Client/LP, log back in. Additionally, ensure that your Transport tab in the Audio Setup is consistent throughout your environment. These options may include Unicast, Multicast, and Automatic. Unicast is the most common setup within
networks that are not Multicast enabled. If you are unsure, it is best to select Unicast, then restart your client application.

13. Launching PDF documents from within the "Help" panel opens a browser, but does not always display requested information. (v2.1)
Known issue. Workaround: InfoWorkSpace manuals are available by clicking the "Manuals" button.
Resolved in v2.5.

14. Cannot open a document link posted on the bulletin board within a virtual room. (v2.x)
Document links associated with a users briefcase will not open for any user other that the owner of the briefcase that the document resides in. Document must be in a file cabinet folder.

15. I cannot save a Whiteboard to my local machine. The icon is not sensitized. (v2.x)
Whiteboard files cannot be "saved" to a local machine. The "Export" option must be selected. The image is then saved as a non-editable picture. Editable Whiteboard images can be saved to the InfoWorkSpace Server or InfoWorkSpace Briefcase.

16. When I select to upload/download a document to/from the file cabinet, I cannot see an icon for my local machine. (v2.x)
Increase the width of your file chooser window. Icon may be out of viewing area.

17. Does the InfoWorkSpace "Shared View" tool continuously broadcast the entire shared area? (v2.x)
No. "Shared View" will broadcast the entire initial image, and then only send pixel updates as the shared area on the senders desktop changes.

18. Why does my browser open instead of the application when I double-click a file in the file cabinet? (v2.1)
InfoWorkSpace v2.1 can incorrectly identify some files. In this case, a default browser is automatically initiated. This issue has been resolved in InfoWorkSpace v2.5.

Edit host file:

Go to c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc folder

Open the Hosts file and add entry for IP, short host name and FQHN
-
Save and exit file
